I recently finished composing the last piece for the marriage CD that I am working on. I am thrilled about it as it will be a combination of three quotations in one song. It consists of a short passage from Abdu’l-Baha on love (which I have included as the ‘Thought of the day’ below), an Apache (Native American) wedding blessing and a quotation about love from Henri Matisse. The three quotes are intertwined in one piece and sung together in parts. The next step of the project will be recording these pieces professionally. In addition to the CD, the package will include a lovely booklet of quotations on love and marriage from different sources. Both the CD and the booklet come in a beautiful Chinese silk package which is intended to be given as gifts to couples at weddings or visiting a friend’s home. I can’t wait for you to see and hear it. If you have any thoughts for a title for a marriage CD, please let me know.
[NOTE: I have released the song ‘Where there is love’ from the album ‘Birds of Love’. Here is a link to the song, ‘Where there is love’. Enjoy!
Thought of the Day:
“Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time.”

Beautiful! I thought Celestial Doves would sound awesome as a title for a CD about marriage. Just an idea. 🙂 Hugs hugs! 🙂
Oh, oh, got another one! Two Doves? 🙂
Thanks Sam! These are great titles – thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to sing one of the pieces from the CD at your blessed wedding in less than a week! 🙂
I like…Where there is Love….as a title. Otherwise I was trying to think what two words exemplify Baha’i marriage.
Maybe…. Sacred Matrimony…..many people have lost sight that marriage is a sacred institution.
I have a seeker getting married in October. I’d love to offer this CD to her. This will be an important source for those seeking to get married.
I hope the making of the CD goes smoothly.
Sincerely, Anna
Are you writing music for any of the Baha’i marriage prayers? Love, Anna
Dear Ann,
Thank you for your contribution for titles for the marriage CD. I’m excited to receive your responses. We haven’t yet set a goal for the finished product but we’ll keep you updated (if it’s not ready by October, you can always give it to your friend after they’re married). 🙂
I have composed music to the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha on the theme of marriage. The passage begins, “Wherefore, wed thou, in the heaven of Thy mercy these two birds of the nest of Thy love…” The CD also includes the prayer for husbands and for handmaidens. I have written more about it on a previous blog entitled, “Perseverence Pays Off”. You can view it at: http://www.elikamahony.com/blog/2008/03/07/perseverance-pays-off/
Lovely to hear from you 🙂
my dear one Elly

Hi Love Elly
I start almost every day with your music and prayers and it gives me such a cocoon of protection. i know the marriage CD will be such a blessing to young and old couples. Good luck and happy that it is almost done!
As for the name how about “Rose of Love” with the beautiful red roses that you have displayed here?
And you may include the hidden Word:
Plant naught but the rose of Love?!
We’re now thinking of the name ‘Birds of Love’ but I like your suggestion too Jalehjoon. 🙂

Hi Elika,
My eldest son is getting married next month and I would love to get a copy of your cd. Our family are Baha’is but my son’s fiance is not a Baha’i and it would be great to include some quotations on love and marriage that are from other sources as well as the Baha’i prayers and writings. They will only be having a Baha’i wedding ceremony even though his fiance is from a Buddhist background.
Warm regards
Cheryle
