Today is a Holy Day for Baha’is around the world as we celebrate the Birth of the Bab who is often referred to as the Herald of the Bahá’í Faith. The Bab’s mission was to prepare the way for the coming of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith.
In my last blog, I mentioned that I had visited the Baha’i World Centre which is where the Bab’s remains are buried and a beautiful Shrine was built and completed in His honor in 1953. I was blessed to visit His Shrine a couple of weeks ago and one of the highlights was hearing a melody while I was praying in His Shrine.
I had intended to record it upon my return home and today as I was reflecting about the significance of this Holy Day, I felt it would be the most appropriate occasion to record it. I asked one of my neighbors who is a youth and has a beautiful voice (thanks Alaast) to help me record it so that we could capture the feeling of a chorus as it is a call and response song. The melody is simple so that it can be used in gatherings and it’s easy to sing and follow along. I have made the song available as a gift download and hope you enjoy it!
