Thank you all for your proposed names for my new painting. I love reading all the varied suggestions and creative ideas. The title has been picked and congratulations goes to Beto Alvarez for the title, ‘Celestial Garden’. The painting is now SOLD FOR SALE on Etsy!
Painting was a huge passion of mine growing up in Kenya. The vibrant colours of the landscape, the various shades of green sprinkled throughout the countryside and the dynamic culture influenced my art greatly.
I have been asked why I paint circles. What intrigues me about this shape is that there is no beginning and no end. The circle symbolises a sense of wholeness, of healing and of completeness. I recently discovered another reason after watching a video that a friend of mine posted on Facebook entitled, ‘The magnificence of the 3, 6, 9’. As I was watching it, I was blown away by how it captured exactly how I feel about the mystery of a circle. It states that there are 360 degrees in a circle and the video explains how this is not arbitrary. A pattern develops when bissecting a circle. The resulting angle always reduces to 9 converging into a singularity. Conversely, polygons reveal the exact opposite. Their vectors communicate an outward divergence. The number 9 reveals a linear duality. It is both the singularity and the vacuum. 9 models ‘every’thing and ‘no’thing simultaneously. To further explain, the sum of all digits excluding 9 is 36. 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8=36. (3+6=9). Paradoxically, 9 plus any digit returns the same digit. i.e. 9+5=14 (1+4=5). So 9 quite literally equals all the digits (36) and nothing (0). Therefore, vortex based mathematics says there is a divine code embedded in our number system. Here is a link to the video in case you missed it.
Creating this painting was a meditative experience especially as I was working on it during the Bahai fast. I spent hours layering the circles in different shades of green (I’m drawn to this colour because of my upbringing).
Once again here is the link for the painting on my Etsy site. I can paint similar custom order paintings with any colors requested. The painting will be created in a similar style, color and size. Each circle is lovingly painted with a brush by hand. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
