I am excited to share with you a new video titled ‘A Hundred Thousand Hopes.’
At this chaotic period in history when humanity is struggling with issues of disunity, disease and despair, I felt this quotation from ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to be especially powerful, poignant and appropriate:
“Ask whatsoever thou wishest of Him alone; seek whatsoever thou seekest from Him alone. With a look He granteth a hundred thousand hopes, with a glance He healeth a hundred thousand incurable ills, with a nod He layeth balm on every wound, with a glimpse He freeth the hearts from the shackles of grief.”
I have been preparing this video as I wanted it to be ready for the Day of the Covenant (November 25) and the Ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá (November 27) so that friends can use it during their commemorations.
‘A Hundred Thousand Hopes’ is a duet with my talented friend Fiona Doomun-Rouhani from my album ‘Infinite Bounty’.
Fiona and I collaborated on our first album together back in 1997. The album is titled ‘Melodies of the Nightingale’ and we released this album with another friend Michelle Brown. That particular album was how my music journey began. I am so grateful that Fiona agreed to sing again on this piece. It was a joy to harmonise together on ‘A Hundred Thousand Hopes’.
Another piece that you might like to use for the upcoming Holy Days is ‘Hold Thou My Hand’ – a song about ‘Abdu’l-Bahá. Here is the link for the video – a favorite of friends around the world.
