Rise!
I composed a new song a few days ago which took me to another realm! Truly – there are very few things in life that are better than being a channel for inspiration. These are the moments that take me to a meditative state – especially when I’m singing the vocals for a new song. The emotions come out so much easier because it’s new. I call it ‘a creative rush’ as that’s how I feel when I’m done – tired, yet blissful and exhilarated!
The words I used to set to music are from a unique and incredibly inspiring individual – Abdu’l-Baha. I’m looking for a title for the song (right now I’ve entitled it ‘Rise’) and I’d love to hear your suggestions after you read the lyrics:

What is the reference for attributing these words to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá? I’m pretty sure they’re words adapted from a poem by Amatu’l-Baha Ruhiyyih Khanum-Rabbani, which were set to music (in English) by Laura Lee and Lucy Shropshire. There’s also a Spanish verision called “Ensañar es Aprender”.

Hi Gavin, thanks for writing. I believe I saw the song attributed to Abdu’l-Baha in a songbook but I think you’re right as I wasn’t absolutely sure. Thanks for clarifying. How do we find out for sure?
